It is official! This past week was the RPS 205 Board Meeting which John Eckberg attended with many others from the local area. He addressed the board this month about the creation of C.A.R.E. and the goals we are going to achieve within the school system for our children to strive again. Non-partisanship is a must when we tackle issues for the younger generations so that they can have the strongest opportunities presented to them.
Our educators are finally being given a foothold in the classroom again due to the new policies set by the Illinois administration for cellphone restrictions in middle schools. It should not stop at 8th grade and we hope to push these policies into the high school grades as well. John also spoke upon the fading opportunities of industrial classes and showing what a good life in trades positions can be for our kids.
Meeting the new superintendent, Dr. Larry Huff, also put a foot in the door for future conversations about collaboration of events for our kids to attend and learn from. Please look in our Events page for the upcoming Industrial Day we are hosting for a look into local industries and what they can provide for a future position for our kids. Hopefully they can find value and motivation from these small presentations given by our local leaders and specialists to lead wonderful lives here in Rockford and anywhere else they go.
